Hi managed to get onto new site.As you may know i have been in hospital with spinal problems (bulging disc) pressing onto sciatic nerve and causing leg nimbness and loss of bladder control.Well i am now into my second week of bed rest and still in a lot of pain in my back. I had a blood test last thursday and my surgery rang to say they need to see me because my white cells were very high indicating an infection or something although i dont feel as if i have an infection so i am off to the doctors in the morning.I am on so much medication now and steroids i would probably not feel an infection in my body as i have so many painkillers etc. I am at present lying in bed writing this as this is the only position that i can get some relief from the pain. The hospital did say next step was epidural injection so who know whats going to happen .I know one thing i am so fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!Unsure

Dear Cazza,

I am so sorry to read that you are still having bed rest and ongoing problems. You must be well and truly fed up! I wonder what is happening to you now? Thank goodness that you are being seen tomorrow as , if you do have an infection, you want it treated quickly. Is mum still looking after you?
At least the injection may put an end to this disruption to your life and give everything time to settle down.
I hope that something better happens for you soon. Post tomorrow so that we know how you got on at the GP.

Thinking of you,

Eleanor x

Hi Cazza,

So sorry to hear that you are still in so much pain. Perhaps the epidural injection could help and may be worth considering if they offer it to you.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Cazza,

I agree, it sometimes difficult to know what's going on with our bodies when we're taking pain killers and steroids as they have the potential to mask pain and infections. Good that your GP picked the infection up.

Hope you get some relief soon and that the jab works - hang on in there,

thinking of you,

Love,

Barbara

Hello Cazza,
How are things going for you now? I do hope that you get this pain sorted out soon.
I had my M.R.I Scan on Tuesday and am none the wiser yet as to what the results showed up.
I too am still on painkillers. I am not bed-bound, but staying indoors as much as possible.
I have a system of cushions that I place around the house so that I can sit at the table, computer, settee, etc!
Getting fed up now as it has been since August/September!
You are in my thoughts,
Love to you,
FionaSmile

Hi Cazza,
Sorry you are still feeling so bad.
I'm glad your GP is getting your ulcers treated, did he give you antibiotics?
Have you also stopped the enbrel because it's most likely the cause of the ulcers?
Hang on in there, you will get there in the end.

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Cazza, sorry to hear you're still so poorly. I know as a parent you always get a terrible feeling of guilt when you are not able to do things for your children - not nice. Is the bed rest the only treatment for the bulging disc in your back? (apart from all the painkillers and steroids). Thinking of you.

Hello Cazza, I'm sorry to read about the rotten time you are having, it's very tough on you being a Mum to a young child and trying to be brave for her. I just hope your increased meds work for you. If they do the epidural for you though it may give you a reprive for a time, it might be worth it. Hope that something can be do to help. Take care. Glenys x

Hi cazza here i went to get out of bed today and my back just went i could not move so my hubby managed to get me back to bed and gave me all of my painkillers plus 10ml of oramorph and eventually the pain was a little better.I phoned my doctor who said to use the oramofph to get the pain under control so i was comfotable.I told him i was having problems going for a wee and he said it could be the nerve pressing on the bladder or it could be the Amitritiline that he gave me so he wants me to stop this as of now and just see.He also gave me temazepam to help me sleep and to relax all of the muscles in my back,so i have now taken my normal meds plus the temezapam and lets wait and see what tommorrow brings

Gosh, what a suffering for you.

When I read what you're going through, my heart is saying perhaps you should be in hospital?

I am just so sorry for all this pain, and please know I am thinking of you.

Love,
Amanda
